Recently, Robbie and I were lucky enough to get invited to Spain for a wedding, and we decided to turn it into a mini break. This involved some museum visiting, time in the pool, Robbie smashing some course records on his long run, and most importantly – me taking advantage of some new surroundings and making Robbie take outfit photos for me! What a gem!
I am begrudgingly embracing the layering and the sparkles that are such a big part of this season, and who better to do that with than Joanie Clothing!
Who doesn’t love a dinosaur?! And this great little pink triceratops jumper was just the right amount of girly and warm for me. It’s super soft and stretchy, and the size Large was a perfect fit on me. I wore it for about 3 days in a row, and it earned me many compliments, and it didn’t lose it’s shape at all. I feel that a Medium would have also been a good fit, but the Large was a fab length and allowed for layering underneath.
And what better item to team such a great jumper with than this incredible pleated gold skirt. As this skirt has an elasticated waist, it as a great fit in a 16. I wore my Rosie Red every day corset underneath, and as you can see I have some visible pooch in some photos. I would say that the skirt is quite thin and does show up lumps and bumps, but it isn’t too clingy or static.
As the weather was still pretty mild in Madrid, this look was just warm enough to rock. Both the belt and boots are old Evans, and they just happened to match each other pretty well! This is quite a casual look, and I feel like both pieces could be dressed up or down quite easily. Where would you wear them?
Next up is an absolutely dreamy dress for a red headed sparkle fiend like myself…
I also teamed this dress with a Rosie Red corset, and I think the combo is super striking. I went for a size 16 as the dress had decent stretch, and it was slightly tricky to get over the girls, but once it was on I loved the fit. It didn’t look thin or over stretched, and it didn’t cling. In fact it’s pretty much perfect bar two thing that I personally would change… I would have a little more fabric in the skirt and make it slightly more flared, and I would maybe not have the plunge be quite as plunging – although a little stitch soon fixed that.
How lush would this look with some red accessories at a Christmas party?! I teamed it with some older Evans shoes here, but come December, let’s accept that Christmas will happen and go full wrapping paper chic! Where and how would you wear it?
These pieces are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the latest Joanie Clothing offerings, so make sure you head to their website to check out their other wonderful pieces! What have you fallen in love with?
