There’s something about Septembers that I absolutely love. Kids walking to school in the morning, back to school stationary supplies are on sale and cuter by the year, leaves starting to change colours and begin to drop and crunch on the ground, the air cools at night, but it’s warm during the day, cooking becomes less of a hassle, and planning outfits become a heck of a lot more fun because you actually WANT to wear clothes again!

Don’t go thinking I hate summers, it’s just during the hot summer months I either want to have my booty floating in a lake, or to be in the most minimal outfit possible, if not naked directly in front of a fan. I love how social the summer months are, I love the activities, like swimming outdoors and camping that are made possible when the sun is at it’s hottest. I adore backyard BBQ’s with friends that go late into the night because the sun is up for ages. But when I start seeing back to school ads and Halloween decor starts dribbling into store I know my time is close!

what I’m reading : Discovery of Witches paperback | audible

Septembers mean sweaters and books, hot cups of tea and getting cozy watching Netflix with my Love. It means getting to wear pants again and closed toe shoes, maybe even fuzzy socks at night and the blissful return of wearing hats! There’s just something about Septembers, the mix of lingering summer, but the promise of Fall that makes me feel extra romantic about life in general.

I’m wearing one of my new favourite cardigans I picked up from Amazon. I heard through the grapevine that this sweater was on the roomy side, which is exactly what a plus size gal looking for an oversized cozy sweater to wrap myself up in wants to hear. I ordered the XXL weary it wouldn’t be as generous as I had hoped, as I usually wear a 3X, but the rumours were true, so now I have a black one sitting in my cart.

tee | sweater  | overalls { sold out} | similar hat | bag | similar shoesglasses

My cute tee is from an indie illustrator, Cat Coven, which should be called “cat covet” because I have long coveted all their wares they put out, but last Halloween they released a limited run of this double printed tee with three cats. Since we had adopted two siblings to join our older, shy lil’ Ashworth Grimes and now were a three cat household I was doubly swayed to make sure I got my paws on one! What makes this tee extra awesome is the print on the back, which you’ll have to check out here because I totally forgot to grab a pic on this day. I got mine in a 2X, but it looks like they’ve expanded their sizing even more since last year on certain items! { not that I was pestering them or anything 😉 }

I had given up a pair of black overalls in my closet sale earlier this summer and have been grieving them ever since, so when I saw Dolls Kill was offering a pair in their new plus size range, I flipped my shit!! What I love most about them is the distressing that runs all up and down the legs, my second favourite thing is that they’re a true skinny cut and are vacu-sealed onto my legs, which is just how I like ’em! The fabric is a lightweight twill with a bit of stretch, when I first put them on, I was worried they wouldn’t fit, but after some wiggling and moving around in them, they are fitting me like a glove!

How do you feel about Septembers? Do you get whisked away with romantic ideas of spending afternoons baking and reading too, or do you dread the introduction of the cooler months ahead? I often struggle because I suffer from SAD, but I have learned I can’t blame Fall for winters shortcomings, which is when my SAD really kicks in. So instead I revel in the little things that make me happiest and that’s almost everything to do with Fall!
