So press days are always great fun. Fun cocktails and nibbles, a chance to catch up with bloggers and PRs, goodies bags… and of course, sneak peeks at new and exciting clothes and undies! I often fall in love with pieces, and then spend months impatiently waiting for them to hit the sites and shops!
One item that I lusted hard over recently was the incredibly stunning Richmond embroidered dress from Studio 8, and I couldn’t wait to get it once it hit the site.
Can you see why?! Embroidered pieces are always a slight weakness for me, and this incredible dress was just the right amount of everything. Soft and feminine, spacious sleeves, a little cinching sash, a great knee skimming length, little pops of red… divine!
As it was lined and non stretchy, I went for a 22 to allow for the boobs and for it to sit right on my hips. It fit really well – any spaciousness at the waist was rectified by the sash. The lining wasn’t too tight or short as can sometimes be the case, and the fabric isn’t stiff or scratchy or bulky. I would change a few things about the dress if pushed. I would love for the skirt to be fuller, the sash to be a bit thicker and more structured, and the neckline to be a little lower or less structured to help add to the dreamy feel of it.
It was just so dreamy and fairy like, and adding this stunning flower crown made me want to skip through the fields and talk to the animals! It will be such a lovely dress to wear this summer, and it could be easily dressed up or down with different footwear and accessories.
It is so nice to see a high end high street line like Studio 8 giving us beautiful clothes for plus size women. The brand do cut things with a larger body in mind, and they do not scrimp on the luxury or style. They keep giving us more and more fabulousness each season, and I know that there will be a few more thing that I’ll be featuring this summer from the range.
This is my amazing friend Hayley. She has written a review of the dress and also bared a piece of her soul. If you want to know what she has to say then click here to visit her blog – and don’t forget to leave her a comment!
