Hello Lovelies! If you follow me on instagram and facebook then you might be sick to death of seeing this dress come on down your news feed. But I’m hoping not, because it’s kinda the perfect example of taking a summer dress into fall, or more specifically, that transition season in-between when the weather is fluctuation and you wanna where you flip flops, but you’re also nervous a chill in the air could decent at any moment OR, the day starts with a chill, but warms up to a beautiful summer glow.

There are multiple reasons why I love this dress; but above all the colour wins it for me.  It’s so me, yet still not me at the same time { I mean, I’m not wearing a stitch of black, but it’s super close to one of my favourite fashion shades to wear }. I got so many astonished comments about the fact I wasn’t wearing a stitch of black, and yes, it’s true, I’m kinda *known* for #allblackeverything, but it’s nice to step outta your box every once in a while!

This dress was actually a gift from a friend, the sizing didn’t work out for her, so she sent it to me in the hopes it would work out, and DID IT EVER! I had to do some hunting around after posting it to find a link, as so many of you were asking for it and I found a few links on amazon. This is why the colour is not something I’d usually choose if left to my own devices. It really is beautiful and kinda the perfect shade for both summer and autumn, it’s got that slight rust hue to lend itself effortlessly to autumn, but the flow and off the shoulder aspect is oh so summer!

HOW TO TAKE A SUMMER DRESS INTO FALL

I styled this look two ways to see how you can take an incredibly summer cut and layer it up to be perfectly acceptable in early autumn.

In the summer look, I added a hat to protect my head from the sun-rays, and simple denim shorts underneath so when you walk the slit doesn’t reveal your knickers.

In the fall look, I added my Universal Standard jeans, and a long line vest over top to keep any chill at bay. If the day really warms up, it’s easy to shed the vest layer!

Some notes on this dress: as mentioned above, this was a gift from a friend because the sizing was off, I’m wearing a 5X and I usually wear a 3X, so I’d recommend sizing up 1-2 sizes for a more comfortable fit.
